Dong Lina was born into a farmer’s family in Dalian, Liaoning Province. Dong went blind at the age of 10. Like many blind children, she finished her education early and began learning tuina. Though the money she got was enough for daily use, she wasn’t pleased. She was always looking for chances to continue her education at work.
One day, she heard that there was a training program for blind youth radio hosts in Beijing. Dong, who has had a good voice since childhood, realized that this might be an important chance for her. So she gave herself the courage to make a change. The first time she attended a broadcasting course, Dong Lina was deeply moved ______ it was the first time that she had realized how moving the sound was.
