D(2025·台州椒江)
①Are you interested in travelling? Do you want to travel around the world? Lexie Alford, from California, America, finished travelling to every country in the world at the age of 21.
②Lexie Alford comes from a travelling family. Her mother began her own travel business at a young age, and always took Lexie with her on all her travels. By the time she was only 18 years old, Lexie had already visited 70 countries. That made her want to visit the rest of the world. In October 2017, Lexie began a trip to visit all 195 countries in the world. Two years later, she finally finished it.
③Lexie used planes, boats and trains to get around. But she liked to travel by train best. “Travelling on trains is slow travel. I can watch the changing views from the window,” she said.
④For Lexie, there's nothing better than travelling. Even in the hard times, she never thought of giving up. “I'm lucky I made it at last. I felt tired, but it was still an exciting trip. I experienced nothing but love and kindness from the people I met in each and every country,” she said. “And I learned a lot about the world. The world would be so boring if everything was the same everywhere. The differences make discovering new cultures such a beautiful experience.”
⑤Lexie hopes others, especially women and young people, can go out and see the world. Her biggest goal is to encourage others to push their limits(极限), no matter how big or small they may be. We live in such a big and beautiful world. Why not spend some time travelling just like Lexie?
