forget 意为“忘记；遗忘”，既可作及物动词，又可作不及物动词。作及物动词时后面可接名词、代词、动词不定式或动词 - ing 形式。其中 forget to do sth 意为“忘记去做某事”，即该事情还没有做，忘记的是一个尚未发生的动作或行为。forget doing sth 意为“忘记做过某事”，即事情已经做了，但是忘记了曾经做过这件事。例如：
I forget to bring the book here. 我忘记把书带到这里了。
I forget bringing the book here. 我忘记已经把书带到这里了。
