III.七选五
体裁 说明文 话题 人际交往的四条规则
Since the way you interact (交往) with your fellows is important to a happy and successful life, conversation is an art form worth studying and practicing. The first rule is very simple—listen! 1 To have a good conversation, you should allow the other person to promote your new ideas and new trains of thought, and then hopefully do the same thing in return.
2 People are reading and analysing your body language. So don't cross your arms or look away when talking. Non - verbal encouragement can make a huge difference. This simply means that, if they are telling a funny story, smile, nod and laugh.
Try working on your voice. 3 But no matter how interesting or smart you may be, if your voice is dull, the other person will struggle to focus on what you are saying. Notice how news readers or classical actors vary the speed and emphasis (强调) when they speak.
Having worked on how you look and sound, you should next consider what you say. Be interested in as many things as possible. 4 Most people have a love for some topics, which is fine so long as you're sharing the same interests. 5 The wider and deeper your interests are, the more likely you are to have something in common with the other people at a dinner table.
A. But what happens when you meet those who don't?
B. So don't just analyse what the other person has said.
C. This does not mean talking like a game show host.
D. Don't focus obsessively (着迷地) on one topic.
E. It doesn't mean sitting there in silence waiting for the other person to finish.
F. The right use of your body language is also necessary for a good conversation.
G. And what if people try to make them feel a little better about themselves?
