题目:利用人体热量发电 体裁:说明文 难度:3星 建议用时:8分钟 正确率:/4
The modern world needs a large amount of energy(能量). Old fossil fuels(化石燃料) cause lots of pollution. So, people have started to be very interested in clean energy. Scientists have spent years trying to find more clean energy. Perhaps they don't have to look far. A great source of energy lies right within our own bodies.
Many large cities have been trying to get body heat(热量). They are trying to do this in their subway. Each person lets out about 100 watts of energy in body heat while waiting for the subway. The body heat is collected along with the heat from running subways. The heat is then turned into electricity(电力). It is used to heat local homes and offices. In Northeast London, five hundred homes have started using body heat to power(给……供电) their electrical goods. In Paris, a few city streets have also begun using body heat from local subway to power buildings. In the future, more buildings in the city are going to make use of body heat.
Another example of getting body heat is the Mall of America. It's a 2.5 million - square - foot shopping center in Minnesota. A building of this size usually needs a large heating system to stay comfortable during the winter. However, the engineers of the building had a better idea. Most areas of the shopping center are heated by humans. In fact, thousands of people visit the shopping center every day. They can provide enough heat during the winter months to power the air conditioners. The shopping center was built in the early 1990s. It is amazing that the engineers at that time were so smart.

( )2. How much energy can a family of four produce(生产) when waiting for the subway?
A. About 100 watts. B. About 200 watts. C. About 300 watts. D. About 400 watts.
( )3. What does Paragraph 2 tell us?
A. People in the subway can produce the most heat.
B. The running subway will turn body heat into electricity.
C. Body heat will be widely used in the future.
D. Body heat can only be used to power electrical goods.
( )4. What can you infer(推断) from the passage?
A. Body heat electricity can be only used in the subway.
B. Body heat electricity is more expensive than fossil fuels.
C. Body heat electricity is not safe enough.
D. Body heat electricity is not new but it's useful.
