Inventive Minds
Inventions can change the world, you may say.
But did you know we are inventors today?
And now just like Orville and Wilbur Wright,
Our ideas are starting to take flight!
We all have inventive minds.
We are thinking of new ideas all the time.
Yes, kids have inventive minds.
We are thinking of new ideas all the time.
Yes, kids have inventive minds.
We're using them every day of our lives!

题目:粮食生产系统的污染 体裁:说明文 难度:3星 建议用时:7分钟 正确率:/4
According to a new study, pollution caused by the world's food production system(生产系统) is also a great cause of the rising temperature on the Earth. It has been found that if the world food system keeps growing the same way that it does now, it will produce about 1.4 trillion metric tons of greenhouse gases(气体) over the next 80 years. The pollution mainly comes from fertilizers(化肥) and food waste. Land - clearing and forest - cutting are also among the biggest causes.
The main goal of the 2015 United Nations on climate(气候) change is to keep rises in the Earth's temperature during this century to between 1.5 ℃ to 2 ℃. The researchers say that even if fossil fuel emissions(化石燃料排放) were stopped now, emissions from the world food system would make it impossible to reach current climate change targets. They say that emissions from food production alone could push world temperatures past 1.5 ℃ by the middle of this century and over 2 ℃ by the end of the century.
Jason Hill, a professor at the University of Minnesota, helped lead the study. He said that fixing the problem would not make the world's population completely give up eating meat. “We can just eat better and healthier food. We can improve how we grow and we can waste less food,” said Jason. “If people waste less food—at home, in restaurants or by giving it to people in poorer countries—emissions can be cut by about 360 billion metric tons.”
( )1. According to the passage, the rising temperature is NOT caused by ________.
A. land - clearing B. forest - cutting
C. fossil fuel emissions D. water pollution
( )2. What does the underlined word “targets” mean in Chinese?
A. 指标 B. 靶子 C. 结果 D. 方案
( )3. To fix the problem of the rising temperature on the Earth, we should ________.
A. stop fossil fuel emissions right now
B. completely give up eating meat
C. only depend on the United Nations to take action
D. improve the world's food production system
( )4. What is the best title for this passage?
A. Food Production System Needs to Be Changed Right Now
B. World Food Production Is Also the Cause of Climate Change
C. Good Eating Habits Will Help Slow Down the Rise of the World's Temperatures
D. The Goal of the 2015 United Nations on Climate Change Will Not Be Reached
