A school for girls in Sydney, Australia has offered its Grade 11 students a chance to learn how to look after a car properly as an important life skill. The students at Stella Maris College have been taking lessons from a local company Galmatic to learn how to look after their cars. Eleni Mitakos, the owner of Galmatic, has led the company for about 13 years. According to her, their hands - on lesson isn't just for teenage girls. “We teach up to 100,000 teenagers a year in schools, across all parts of Sydney,” she said. “The primary purpose(目的) is to make teenagers feel comfortable while driving and never ignore(忽视) a problem with their cars for their own safety.”
The school shared photos of the lesson online and they became popular soon. “This is fantastic! Well done Stella for teaching our girls to be strong and independent. This is the kind of education our kids need in every school,” said one person.
These students are lucky to be able to take part in such a lesson. Hopefully, more countries will offer such lessons so that roads will be filled with skillful and responsible(有责任心的) drivers.
