The following year Hitchcock went to America. His first US movie Rebecca(1940) won the Academy Award for Best Movie. He stayed in the US for most of his life and became an American later.
Hitchcock was very famous in the 1950s and his movies were popular. At that time he was called “The Master of Suspense” by the media. His other famous works include Psycho(1960), The Birds(1962) and Frenzy(1972).
Hitchcock is one of the greatest directors in history. He was knighted(授予爵位) by Queen Elizabeth Ⅱ in 1980 after his death.
