Ⅳ. 阅读理解
I am the proud owner of three pet dogs. Over the years, I havewatched their behaviour carefully that helps me when I travel around theworld.
One important lesson that my dog, Cody, taught meis how to dealwith little problems in life. From the way he has dealt with his recentserious illness, I have learnt how I can face difficult situations whentravelling. I've learnt to try to deal with bad situations in a peaceful way, such as when we miss a train or lose things.
Another dog of mine, Preston, loves to walk around the yard, spending hours smellingevery comer and finding out what it means to him.Taking it slowly is another lesson that's been very hard for me to learn. Asan active traveller, I usually experience less by speeding through everythinginstead of slowly getting to know a place.Even if it means that you won'tsee as many things, going slowly when you travel is the best way to reallyget to know a new place. Rushing around a foreign city isn't fun at all.
Something bad happened to my dog, Mona, before. Though she has become more relaxed overthe years, she is still kind of on edge. She is very careful in any new situations. But when she is usedto her new environment, she is fine. The same goes for our travel experience. No matter where wego, we need to deal with new situations carefully while at the same time not letting anything turn intofear.
Many thanks to my pets. To me, pets are not just pets, but a part of the family. After all, withthe help of them, I am able to learn a lot and live differently.
