When talking about the history of the guqin, Wu Wenguang, a famous performer of the guqin, likes to tell a folk story about the sincere friendship between a musician and his biggest fan.

Indeed, the guqin, a p 7 musical instrument of ancient China's educated group, was also the favourite instrument of Confucius(孔子). In 2008, it was a 8 to the list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
