Do you still remember the headmaster—Zhang Pengfei who led the children to dance during the breaks between classes? He works as a headmaster in a primary school in North China.
Every morning, the 40 - year - old man at Xiguan Primary School in Linyi County, Shanxi Province would lead about 700 students on the playground to dance a special dance, which mixes modern jazz dance steps and full body movements.
The creative headmaster believes that this fun and lively way of exercise can better encourage students to become active rather than “stare at their mobile phones”.
The school's new 30 - minute dance programme has taken place of the traditional exercise programme during the break. “I think students need a change because they have lost interest in doing the original exercise programme,” Zhang told reporters.
The headmaster said he saw a group of people doing this kind of dance in a public square last summer and decided to learn it by himself. In October, he introduced the newly choreographed(编排的) dance to all of his students and shortly after, even the teachers joined in. “Now students don't play with their mobile phones very much. I sometimes find them watching different dance videos and learning new moves!” the proud headmaster said.
The video quickly went around on Chinese social media, with its topic page titled “Headmaster leads students to dance” being viewed more than 250 million times. “This is probably the best form of exercise for children,” a comment (评论) on the Internet read.
