(D)
①On October 30, 2024, China successfully launched(发射) Shenzhou-19. It carried three taikonauts to the Tiangong Space Station for a six-month mission(任务). From Shenzhou-1 in 1999 to Shenzhou-19 in 2024, China has become a global leader in space exploration(探索).
②Wang Haoze, the first post-90s woman taikonaut and first woman spaceflight engineer, plays a key role in this mission. She hopes to make the “space home” better and better by her working hard. Her story shows us that nothing is too far, if we keep reaching for it.
③The three taikonauts' work starts at 8:00 a. m. They will do 86 experiments with the team on the Earth, including an important fruit-fly experiment(果蝇实验). Fruit flies are easy to feed and reproduce quickly. This makes them the best for studying changes in animals that have lived in space for a long time. They are also testing man-made moon soil(泥土) to see if it can work in space. This study is going to help build homes on the moon in the future.
④For safety, China follows a “one launch, one backup” plan, which means there is always one more rocket ready to help if something goes wrong. Shenzhou-19 has already started its six-month space program and we all cross our fingers for its success and the safety of the taikonauts.
⑤To keep in good health, the taikonauts take exercise for two hours every day. They enjoy listening to music while jogging and playing ping-pong. Like people on the ground, they eat three meals a day. They can have many kinds of Chinese food, like dumplings, fish-flavored shredded pork and Gongbao chicken. After each meal, they also eat fruit.
⑥Shenzhou-19 is a symbol of China's national strength. As we look up at the stars, they inspire (激励) us to pursue our dreams. Let's dream big and reach for the stars!
