四、阅读理解
What comes to your mind when you see the word “librarian”? Many people may say, “They are people who organize books in a library.” But is organizing books the librarians' only job? What else do these people do? We spoke with Kathryn Bergeron, who works at a public library in America, to find the answer.
Q: ▲
A: Librarians must make sure the books are on the right shelves. We also do things like ordering new books, helping readers find the materials they need and teaching people how to use new technologies(科技).
Q: How long do you work every week?
A: Most librarians work 40 hours a week. Those in management often work more than that. There are day shifts(轮班)and night shifts. And we often have to work on weekends.
Q: How has your job changed over the years?
A: The Internet is both our best friend and our worst enemy(敌人). Many people say librarians are dying out because the Internet has become widely used. But not everything on the Internet is true. I think people will always need libraries and librarians. I actually find the Internet to be great for librarians. It gives us a chance to get rid of(摆脱)some books and play with our space. We can turn our library into a place for people to learn, communicate and create.
Q: What's the worst part of your job?
A: Librarians have to carry out the library rules. Often, this is a usual job. “Please put your shoes on, sir.” “You can't sleep in the library.” “Yes, you were snoring(打呼噜).” But some people are rude. They will shout at me when I tell them they have broken the rules. I know I am not a hero to everybody else in the room. However, it makes me feel really blue when some people call me names as I am doing my duty.
( )1. Which of the following can be put in “ ▲ ”?
A. What's the best part of your job? B. What's your main job every day?
C. How do you like your job? D. Why do you like your job?
( )2. According to Bergeron, librarians are not dying out because ________.
A. not everything on the Internet is true
B. some materials are not easy to get on the Internet
C. there is not always enough space in the library
D. new technologies may go wrong sometimes
( )3. We can learn from the last answer that when facing a rude person, Bergeron often feels ________.
A. tired B. excited C. sad D. worried

Do you think reading is important? What type of books do you like best? Write something about your reading habit.(At least 5 sentences)
答案:
I think reading is very important for us students because reading makes a full man. I like reading novels best. Reading novels not only improves my knowledge, but also makes me relaxed after a hard day’s work. I often read for half an hour before going to bed every night. I also go to the library to borrow some books at the weekend.
