B
From far out in space, the Earth looks like a blue ball. Since water covers three-fourths of the Earth’s surface, blue is the color we see most. The continents(大洲) look brown, like small islands floating in the huge, blue sea. White clouds cover around the Earth like a light blanket(毛毯). The Earth is like a ball. It is 25,000 miles around! It would take more than a year to walk around the whole planet. A spaceship can fly around the Earth in only 90 minutes.
Even though spaceships have travelled to the Moon, people cannot visit the Moon without special suits. The Moon has no air or water. Plants and animals can’t live there either. Astronauts(宇航员) first landed on the Moon in 1969. After that, there were six more trips to the Moon. They brought back Moon rocks, which scientists are still studying. There are holes, or craters(环形山), all over the Moon’s surface. Scientists believe that meteorites(陨石) smashed into the Moon millions of years ago and formed the craters(陨石坑).
The Sun is the closest star to the Earth. A star is a hot ball of burning gas. The Sun looks very big because it is so close. But the Sun is just a medium-sized(中型的) star. Billions of far-away stars are much bigger than our Sun. The burning gases from the Sun are so hot that they warm the Earth from 93 million miles away! Even though the Sun is always shining, the night here on the Earth is dark. That’s because the Earth turns around, every 24 hours. During the day, the Earth faces the Sun. Then we see light. During the night, the Earth turns away from the Sun. Then it faces the darkness of space.
Each day we learn more about the Earth, the Moon and the Sun.

解析:第一段第1-2行提到“Since water covers three-fourths of the Earth's surface, blue is the color we see most.”(因为水覆盖了地球表面的四分之三,所以蓝色是我们看到最多的颜色),说明地球看起来是蓝色的原因是大部分表面被水覆盖,所以选B。
7. 答案:A
A. 撞击
B. 制作
C. 打破
D. 得到
解析:第二段第5-6行提到“Scientists believe that meteorites smashed into the Moon millions of years ago and formed the craters.”(科学家认为,数百万年前陨石smashed到月球上,形成了陨石坑),结合常识,陨石坑是陨石撞击月球形成的,所以“smashed”在这里的意思是“撞击”,和“crashed”意思相近,选A。
解析:第三段第6行提到“During the day, the Earth faces the Sun.
解析:第三段第1行提到“The Sun is the closest star to the Earth. A star is a hot ball of burning gas.”(太阳是距离地球最近的恒星。 ,第3行提到“The burning gases from the Sun are so hot that they warm the Earth from 93 million miles away!”(太阳的燃烧气体非常热,能从9300万英里外温暖地球),同时白天地球面向太阳能看到光,说明太阳提供光和热。
