In recent years, there are some amazing schools built with plastic bottles. One is in San Pablo, the Philippines. The school is the first of its kind in Asia. It was made by using plastic bottles filled with a kind of earth. Illac Diaz and his team from a non - profit group built it. The local government gave money and many volunteers helped. These bottles were free, and the earth was cheap. What's more, the school building is quite strong.
In Guatemala, there is also a cool project. In 2009, the village of Granados used plastic bottles to build a new school. They put plastic bottles and cement (水泥) together. They filled the bottles with waste. For the two classrooms in this project, they used over 5,000 plastic bottles, and lots of waste and cement. It cost only 10,000. Now, 297 students are studying in this school.
These schools made of plastic bottles show us a great way to use waste. It also tells us we can reuse a lot of things.
