Should cars be allowed in the city? City centers are busy places. This means we need to do all we can to feel safe there.

As the number of cars increases, so does the number of health problems. The number of people with asthma(哮喘)has gone up by 40% in the past ten years. Overweight has also increased because people are not getting enough exercise. They drive instead of walking wherever they go.
Cars bring air pollution and some terrible accidents. If cars are so detrimental, then why not keep them away from these crowded areas? We can try walking, which isn't harmful to anyone, or even a cheap bus ride.
Many busy cities around the world have introduced park - and - ride programs. Cars park outside of the city and regular buses take people into the city centers. This helps the city to become as car - free as possible. The city of Cambridge in England has been using such a program for many years.
Fred Holden is a traffic policeman in London. According to him, there are 200 needless, terrible road accidents in city centers every day. Something must change.
