六、阅读与回答问题(共 5 小题;每小题 2 分,满分 10 分)
请认真阅读下面短文,并根据短文内容回答问题。
I am a skateboarding coach. I give classes to teenagers who are interested in skateboarding. I also founded a skateboarding club in Beijing.
I started to learn skateboarding at 16 when I tried it with a friend. I love the sport because it is a great way to show myself. I have the freedom to develop my unique (独特的) style, showing my creativity and personality (个性) through tricks and even the way I design my boards.
I hope to share my love for skateboarding with others, so I founded the OBT skateboarding club in Beijing and became a skateboarding coach after graduating from college. It’s not easy to start a career like this. I faced many challenges, from financial struggles (财务困境) to making my parents see that skateboarding was a promising skill to learn. But I never give it up. Luckily, in the past few years, skateboarding has become more and more popular in China. More teenagers and parents come to my club to learn this cool sport.
The classes begin with basic skills, such as rolling, turning, stopping and balancing. But I hope kids take up skateboarding for both athletic (运动的) and personal growth. It’s common for my students to fall when they practice. They need to know they will fail and fail again, but then they are going to get it. If they don’t try and fail, they will never grow and learn.
I am optimistic (乐观的) about the future of skateboarding teachers. In the past two years, more than 6 million people started skateboarding in China, and most of them are between 8 and 12 years old. As the sport gets more and more popular, I believe there will be an even greater need for skateboarding coaches in the years to come.
