Many students often feel nervous or scared on exam days. This is a well−known phenomenon(现象) called test anxiety. 1 While it is normal to feel some tension before your test, feeling too nervous can have a negative effect on your exam performance. To turn the situation around and perform at your best, it is necessary to learn how to manage your stress successfully.
Pace yourself. If you find yourself struggling for too long over a single question, move on to the next one.
2 If you feel your anxiety level rising, stop and take a few deep breaths. If possible, get a drink of water.
Think positively. Test anxiety often leads to a nervousness, fear, and worrying that can affect your performance. 3 Such thinking includes the belief that you will do the very best you can, that you have studied hard, and that you know the material.
4 Those around you might be having difficulty with the test. No matter how your fellow test−takers are doing, their performance has nothing to do with you, so do not risk test anxiety by measuring your progress against that of your classmates.
Stay focused. 5 If you stay focused on what you are doing you will be more likely to recall answers and less likely to be affected by test anxiety.

答案:
1.D D项“越是在最重要时刻,感觉越糟糕”是对上一句的进一步说明。故选D项。
2.A 根据空格后“If you feel your anxiety level rising, stop and take a few deep breaths.”可知,此段的小标题应该是“暂停一下,深吸一口气”。故选A项。
3.E 空格前讲的是“消极的破坏性结果”,空格后讲的是“积极性的好处”,故空格处应该是承接句。E项承上启下。故选E项。
