Ⅵ. 阅读理解(2024 合肥瑶海区一模)
阅读下面短文,并用英语回答问题(请注意每小题的词数要求)。
Mrs Olsen was my teacher in the eighth grade. One day at lunchtime, I was getting ready to eat my same cold sandwich and suddenly Mrs Olsen asked me if she could buy my sandwich. She explained that I could use the money to buy a hot lunch.
I was excited. I never bought my lunch at school. It was too expensive for my family. I always carried my lunch from home. My lunch was always a cold sandwich. You could understand my excitement when I had the chance to buy a hot lunch.
When we finished lunch that day, Mrs Olsen explained that she wanted to lose some weight but she was too busy to make a sandwich herself, so she'd like to buy my sandwich every Friday. A girl's lunch sandwich was just fine for her!
From then on, every Friday I could get in line with the rest of the kids for a hot lunch. No matter how many students complained about the food, I found it really tasty to me!
I realise now that Mrs Olsen could fix herself a sandwich on Fridays. But she bought my sandwiches because ____________________.
