Once the Buddha(佛陀) was taking a journey with his disciples(门徒). While they were walking, they passed a lake. The Buddha felt thirsty and asked his disciples to get some water from the lake to drink.
One disciple walked up to the lake. When he arrived there, he saw that some people were washing clothes and many children were playing in the water. As a result, the water became very dirty. The disciple thought, “How can I give this water to the Buddha to drink?”
So he came back and told the Buddha, “The water is very dirty, so I don’t think it is good to drink.” Then the Buddha said, “Let us take a little rest by the tree.” After about half an hour, again the Buddha asked the same person to go to the lake and get him some water to drink. The man went back to the lake. This time he found that the lake had clear water in it. So he collected some water in a pot and brought it to the Buddha.
The Buddha said, “See, you let the water be and you got clear water. Just like life, calm down and make the best decision. In our daily life, we need to cool down when we meet problems.”
