Acupuncture(针灸) is an important part of traditional Chinese medicine. Growing up, I'd always considered it out of date. As we know, acupuncture treatment lasts a long period and causes a lot of pain. But my experience made me change my mind.
Last month, I slept through a flight from London to Beijing. When I woke up, I found that I could no longer move my right arm and fingers. There was no pain. My arm simply didn't follow my brain's instructions(指令) to move, as if it was no longer mine.
One doctor said he could do nothing but give me some pills. “Rest for two months first and come back for an examination.” I felt great fear(害怕).
In that moment of despair, my friend, an acupuncturist in Sichuan, offered to help. I started my treatment the next day. At first, I was worried.
After a few days, I could move my fingers. Two weeks later, I could use chopsticks. Within a month, I got almost well. It was amazing.
Acupuncture first appeared in China more than 2,000 years ago. It works by improving the smooth flow(流动) of “qi”. “Qi” flows through “jingluo” throughout the body.
I hope this kind of traditional Chinese treatment will bring health and happiness to friends all over the world.

Here is a piece of sad news. On 6th September a little girl in Fenzhuang Village, Fengtai, Beijing, died after eating some fried chicken. Here's how the accident happened.
When her father walked by a stand(货摊) in the street, he smelt the nice fried chicken and decided to buy some for her daughter. However, after eating the chicken, her daughter felt very uncomfortable. Then her family sent her to the hospital quickly. But it was too late.
After checking the girl's body carefully, the doctor said she died from the poisonous(有毒的) fried chicken. It was full of nitrites(亚硝酸盐). So some experts suggested that we should buy the food with QS(质量安全) signs on it.
Many people feel more worried about the food safety because there have been many food safety problems in our country these days. For example, poisonous rice, oil, milk and so on have been found out recently. Poisonous food is bad for our health. What's worse, it may kill us, so many people are very afraid of it.
