A
Space travel is nothing new. The first spaceship with a human was sent up into space in 1961. The former Soviet Union(前苏联) launched the first space station into space in 1971. People could live there while they observed space and did experiments. They found the space was just like a magic box. The first group of astronauts lived there for 23 days. The former Soviet Union went on to make six more space stations.
Astronauts visited and often lived in these space stations for a short time. However, it wasn't until the late 1980s when the former Soviet Union sent the Mir space station that people began to live in space for a longer time. It stayed in space from 1986 until 2001, when it was decided that the space station was too old and no longer safe to live in.
Living in space stations makes astronauts face many problems. One of them is food. All the meals on space stations are put together on the earth and sent there by spaceship. Because the food has to last a long time, a lot of it has to be stored(贮存) in cans. The space stations do not have a fridge, but they have a cool room to keep fruit and vegetables fresh. Astronauts also eat plenty of other food such as dried meat that do not need special care.
( )1. What does the underlined word “observed” mean in Paragraph 1?
A. Heard.
B. Watched.
C. Checked.
D. Reached.
( )2. What can we infer from the passage?
A. Space travel has quite a long history of more than 70 years.
B. Astronauts could live in the Mir space station for no more than three weeks.
C. The former Soviet Union sent a total of 8 space stations into space in the 1970s and 1980s.
D. Astronauts can never have a chance to eat fresh food when they live in space stations.
( )3. What is the best title for this passage?
A. Space travel

First Man is a picture book. It tells the story of Yang Liwei and his trip to space.
As we all know, Yang Liwei is China's first astronaut to fly into space. He took the Shenzhou - 5 spaceship to space at the age of 38.
To help people get to know the Chinese space hero better and learn about his trip to space, the picture book was born. It is based on Long March to Space written by Yang.
Yang Liwei left for space at nine on the morning of 15th October, 2003 and came back to the earth at 6:23 on the afternoon of 16th October. During his staying in space, he flew around the earth 14 times. With great pictures and simple words, the book tells an exciting story as well as space science in an interesting way. From the book, we know that it was really hard for people to travel in space. There is no gravity in space, so people don't feel comfortable. Yang's story tells us that nothing is impossible for a willing heart.
Wu Xiaoxi from the BSTP came up with the idea for writing such a book. “There is a surprise in the book for readers—a picture of a rabbit looking at the moon,” Wu says. “China plans to send people to the moon by 2030. We hope to write nice picture books at that time.”
4. What's the book First Man about? (不超过15个词)

5. How long did Yang Liwei stay in space? (不超过5个词)

6. What can we learn from Yang's story? (不超过10个词)
