(2023 - 2024·芜湖市无为市期中)A man was going to the house of a rich man. As he went along the road, he saw a box of good apples at the side of the road. He said,“I do not want to eat those apples,for the rich man has a lot of money and he will give me a lot of nice food to eat.” Then he took the apples and threw them away into the dustbin(垃圾桶).
He went on walking and then he came to a river. The river was very wide(宽的),and he could not go across it. He waited for some time and wanted to get help from others. But no one came. Then he said,“I cannot go to the rich man’s house today,for I cannot go across the river.”
So he decided to go home. He felt really hungry on his way home,because he had eaten nothing that day. After walking for some time, he came to the apples he had thrown away. He took the apples out of the dustbin and began to eat them.
