答案:
Dear Mike,
I'm so glad to hear you're coming to China next summer! Welcome! You're in for a real treat with Chinese food.
China has amazing food cultures. In the north, people love wheat-based foods like noodles and dumplings. They prefer salty and hearty flavors, and dishes are usually bigger in portions. In the south, rice is the main staple. The food there is often lighter and sweeter, with more seafood and fresh ingredients. Cantonese dim sum is a must-try!
My advice: Try street food—you'll find the most authentic flavors. Don't worry about spicy food at first, but give Sichuan cuisine a chance later. And learn to use chopsticks before you come!
Can't wait to show you around. Let me know if you need help planning!
Best,
Li Hua

一、朗读下面文章。(满分5分)
As the popular saying goes, “Eat breakfast like a king.” But what if you aren’t hungry? Should we always eat breakfast just on the basis that it’s healthy to do so? According to Popular Science, sometimes eating breakfast can make tasks we have to do more difficult.
Researchers have found that when people are not hungry but still eat in the morning, it can have a negative effect on their performance. This is because the body and brain have to work more actively to turn the food into energy. So, if you have to do something challenging, eating breakfast when you’re not hungry may get in the way of you.
One researcher even suggests that when we don’t feel hungry, we could consider skipping breakfast. However, he adds that we should not “reach for unhealthy foods to relieve (减轻) strong mid-morning hunger feelings”. Some nuts and milk before lunch would be a healthy choice. Do you agree?
