阅读下面的短文,从短文中找出适当的单词填入第61—64题空白处,并完成第65题。(共5小题;第61—64题每空1分,满分4分;第65题6分;共10分)
Have you ever been to Sichuan Province? Located in Southwest China, it’s one of China’s most popular tourist destinations. The province boasts many famous sites, activities, and cultural treasures. There’s not enough space to list all of Sichuan’s attractions, but here are a few highlights.
One of Sichuan’s finest cultural treasures is Sichuan Opera. A major part of the opera is the face changing performance, or bianlian in Chinese. It’s a performance in which the actors rapidly change their masks—it is so rapid, in fact, that it looks like magic. Skilled performers can change more than ten masks in twenty seconds.
Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan, is a cool, modern city that’s full of interesting buildings, art, and food. Famous for its use of Sichuan peppercorns and spicy chilli peppers, Chengdu food is beloved by its locals. “Nothing is more important to Chengdu people than food,” a professor at a higher institute of cuisine in Sichuan said. “They love to search for small restaurants in out-of-the-way places that just specialise in a couple of dishes.”
It is said that Chengdu has more teahouses than any other city in the world. In fact, people in Chengdu drink the equivalent of up to seven Hangzhou West Lakes of tea every year! Teahouses range from cheap and casual to full-on traditional places with “long spout teapot” ceremonies, where hot water is poured from spouts of over a metre in length.
But Sichuan has so much more than its capital to offer. Travel beyond Chengdu’s busy ring roads and you’ll find more traditional settings, such as ancient villages in the mountains with atmospheric Buddhist temples. The most well-known beauty spot in Sichuan is Jiuzhaigou National Park, which is famous for its beautiful natural scenery that includes colourful lakes, mature forests, and impressive waterfalls.
Sichuan is also a great place for animal lovers. Wolong National Natural Reserve is home to more than 30% of the world’s pandas. The reserve is also home to other globally endangered animals, such as the red panda and the snow leopard.
With so much to offer, Sichuan Province represents a great taste of China.
