(核心素养·思维品质)阅读表达
阅读下面短文,简略回答问题。
富与穷,幸福的真谛
One day, a rich man and a poor man met. The rich man had a big house and lots of money. He wore expensive clothes and drove a fancy car. The poor man lived in a small house. He didn’t have much money and his clothes were old.
The rich man looked at the poor man and said, “I have so much. I’m sure I’m happier than you.” But the poor man smiled and said, “I don’t think so. I have a loving family. Every evening, we sit together and talk. We share our happiness and sadness. That makes me happy.”
The rich man thought for a while. He and his family were always busy. They didn’t have time to talk to each other. He suddenly realised that money couldn’t buy everything.
At that moment, a little girl came to the
poor man. She gave him a flower she picked by the road. The poor man smiled and thanked her. He said, “I’m sure it will be the best part of my day.”
The rich man saw this and felt a little jealous. He finally understood that being rich doesn’t always mean being happy. Sometimes, the simple things in life, like love and kindness, are more important.
1. What did the rich man wear?
2. Where did the poor man live?
3. What made the poor man happy?
4. What did the girl give the poor man?
5. What do you think is more important, money or happiness? Why?
