Ⅰ. Read the passages and choose the best answers.
A
I'd never been much interested in sports. I tried softball, and the ball hit me in the eye. I tried swimming and running. I could never find anything I liked. But 20 years ago, I found the right kind of exercise — walking.
Why did I start walking? At 30, my doctor told me I had diabetes and might not live much longer. I was so worried then, and I spent all of my life worrying. The doctor had advised me that it would help to take more exercise, but I didn't listen at first. However, after being unhappy for several months, I began to understand the doctor's words. I quickly found that I'd been missing the most beautiful part of the days!
What did I see on my walks? I began noticing the sunsets. I would stop and enjoy the beauty. I noticed the changing of the seasons. How beautiful the rebirth of spring, the flowers and bees of summer, fall's golden leaves and snow-covered winter — all these things I'd missed out on the worrying about death!
Now I'm 50, and I don't worry any more about what “might” happen. Worry and you just miss out the good things in life. It's not always easy. My health will never be great again. But I get to say “hello” to the sunrises, because every day I live is a new life.
