To make your body keep healthy, your body has many things to do. One of these things is called reflex. A reflex is something you do not choose to do,but it happens when your body reacts quickly to something. Your body uses reflexes to protect itself. In fact,there are over forty reflexes.
Reflexes are useful and helpful. For example,when you breathe in dust or harmful germs,your body makes you sneeze to push the bad things out quickly. Coughing is another reflex that helps you make the dust and harmful germs out of your body. Also,blinking your eyelids is a reflex. When the sunshine or the lamplight is too bright,your eyelids can close themselves to prevent the hurt from the strong light. Moving quickly is a reflex too. If you touch something very cold or hot,you will perhaps move your body parts away so quickly that you even don't think about it. The reason is that your body does not wait for the brain to think it over and decide what to do. Your body parts move quickly so that your body can protect itself from the very cold or hot things.
