Dear Helen Keller,
I'm glad to write to you again to tell you how your book has influenced me.
I read that you really brought your parents lots of 1 trouble and they didn't know what to do! Then they found a great 2 teacher for you—Ms. Sullivan. With great patience, she showed and taught you that there was a word to describe every object and idea. Because of Ms. Sullivan, you're now able to 3 read and write by touch.
I also read that you love to ask questions. So now, I do the same thing as you do. It really helps me a lot to 4 learn. I am learning more now than I ever did before I lost my hearing. Maybe my mother is 5 right when she says “every cloud has a silver lining”. Even when something seems really bad, a 6 good thing can come from it.
I have a best friend Anna Bailey in my city. When I lost my hearing, I 7 thought I would lose this friend. I thought she might want to play only with people who could hear. But I was wrong. Anna stayed 8 friends with me. She even helped me. She told me I would get used to being deaf. “It might take some time,” she said. “But you'll find your feet.” She made me feel 9 happy.
When I first heard about you I was really 10 surprised and interested. Even though you are deaf and blind, you can do almost anything! You even went to college. You are like a hero to me. I hope that one day I can visit you.
Yours,
Amelia Grant

Some people have no interest in sports. They think that sports make them 1 tired and smell bad. They say, “Why waste time playing sports?” To these people, I politely say, “You have not discovered the 2 fun of sports!”
Let me share with you a basketball game I played two weeks ago. Our parents and friends were there to 3 cheer us on. A lot of people were watching. We all wanted to 4 win the game in front of so many people.
The game was 5 nearly over and we were one point behind. Our coach called us together and said, “Okay, this is it! Either we score now or the game is over. Let's work hard to score. Even if we don't score, 6 at least we know that we have tried our best. So, boys, don't think too much. It doesn't matter if we lose. Just do it.”
Well, in the last 7 minute of the game, we truly scored and two teams tied (打成平局)! We went into overtime(加时赛) and we lost in the end. But after the game, the coach hugged all of us. He told us that he was 8 proud because he had never seen a team try harder than us.
To be honest, I 9 feel a lot of pleasure in playing sports. It makes me happy and comfortable. That's why I play sports whenever I get the chance. So my 10 advice is to choose a sport and keep doing it. Your body will thank you and your mind will be ready to work well.
