I am a student in Beijing Foreign Studies University now and my score in the English subject was 146 on the national college entrance examination. But when I first started studying English seriously, I noticed that my grammar was a major weak point. My writing was often full of mistakes. To fix this, I created a study plan to improve my grammar.
I started by reviewing the basic(基础的) grammar rules. I realized that I had been making mistakes because I never really understood the rules enough. For example, I would often mix up verb tenses(动词时态). To solve this, I spent a few weeks just going over the basics. It was a little boring at first, but it made a huge difference.
One of the turning points for me was when I began keeping a grammar diary. Whenever I made a mistake, I would write it down along with the correct usage myself. I remember once I kept mixing the past perfect tense with the simple past. Writing out the differences and practising writing sentences in my diary helped me internalize(内化) the rules.
In fact, to get better at any subject, you need to find what you're not good at and face it directly. Remember, every mistake is just a chance to learn something new.
