[人与自我·好奇拓新] Curiosity is part of human nature. It can bring new discoveries. Have you heard of Henry Ford? He is a great example.
Henry Ford was the American pioneer behind Ford Motor Company. He is well known as an inventor.
In his early teens, Ford was drawn to machines and had a deep curiosity about them. By age 15, Ford had become very good at repairing(修理)watches. He could finish a repair in less than ten minutes.
Ford was also interested in how things worked. In one experiment(实验)with a teapot, he plugged up the spout(堵住壶嘴)and watched the water boil. As you can imagine, the teapot exploded(爆炸). The result was that a mirror and a window were broken. The young inventor was badly hurt.
Ford's years of curiosity and bravery led him to success. He built his first car in 1896. The invention greatly improved people's lives in transport(交通运输). In 1903, Henry Ford started Ford Motor Company. It became a household name with its great success.
