Ⅱ. 阅读理解
[人与社会·真诚交友]From an early age,Ma Qian tried to be friendly to everyone. She invited friends to her birthday parties and often gave gifts to them.
However, everything changed. In class one day, everyone had to make three gifts to give to their three best friends. Ma Qian enjoyed the activity. But when all the gifts were made and shared out,she was the only one that didn’t get a gift! Ma Qian felt so sad, crying for hours. Everyone came to comfort(安慰)her, but each stayed only a short time before leaving.
She knew she was a good companion(伙伴),but she hadn’t been a true friend to anyone. Though she tried to be close to everyone, she found that wasn’t enough. That night,Ma Qian told her mother about everything. Her mother said,“My dear, you can’t make friends with a gift or a few good words. If you want true friends, you must give them time and real care. For a true friend, you must always be ready to help.”
Hearing this,Ma Qian decided to change her ways to make friends. To be a true friend, people need to spend more time and really care about others.
