Last Sunday, I had an unforgettable DIY experience with my five-year-old neighbour, Lily. I decided to teach her how to make a simple paper flower.
First, we gathered colourful paper, scissors, and glue. Lily’s eyes sparkled with excitement as I showed her how to fold the paper into small squares. Her tiny hands tried their best to follow my steps, although sometimes the folds were a bit messy.
Next came the cutting part. I held Lily’s hand and guided her to cut along the edges of the folded paper. She was a little nervous at first but soon started giggling as she saw the paper taking the shape of flower petals. After cutting, we carefully opened the paper and glued the centre together to form a beautiful flower.
Lily jumped up and down, proudly showing her creation to her parents. Making the paper flower with Lily not only brought us joy but also taught me patience. It was a wonderful experience that I’ll always remember.
