Last Sunday, I decided to do something fun：painting a picture of my favourite animal, a cat. I had never painted before, but I thought it would be a good way to spend my day. I got a canvas(画布), some paints, brushes, and a palette(调色盘).
First, I drew a simple outline of the cat on the canvas with a pencil. It was a bit hard to make it look just right, but I didn’t worry too much. Then, I mixed some white and black paint to make gray for the cat’s fur. I painted the outline first, trying to stay inside the lines. It took a lot of focus, but I was having fun.
After that, I filled in the rest of the cat. I used darker gray for the shadows and lighter gray for the bright parts. I painted the cat’s eyes green and added some whiskers(胡须) with a small brush. The more I painted, the better I felt about it.
When I finished, I looked at my painting. It wasn’t perfect, but I was really happy with it. I had worked hard all day, and I was proud of what I made. I hung it on my bedroom wall to remember my fun day.
