Hans Christian Andersen was born in the poorest area of Odense, Denmark, on April 2, 1805. His father was a shoemaker and his mother worked as a washerwoman. He received little early education. So what made him a great successful writer?
In the childhood, Andersen wasn’t very happy. As he wasn’t very strong, other children often made fun of him. He had few friends. Instead, he had fun making up stories by himself.
