As a student from China, would you like to visit Canada, the US or Mexico? There you can see amazing monarch butterflies. They travel to these countries. They fly south in autumn and north in spring.
Fly South in Autumn
Every year, before winter, orange and black monarch butterflies leave Canada and the north of the US. They travel about 3,200 kilometers south to Mexico, and live in the warm forests. They are like big green umbrellas, keeping the butterflies warm.
Fly Back North in Spring
When spring comes and it gets warmer in Canada and the north of the US, the butterflies fly back to lay eggs. After that, they die. Once the eggs hatch, new butterflies come out.
Monarch butterflies have an amazing life. Their migration and life cycle happen each year. It's fantastic!
