C
Solomon was a nice and clever king (国王). One day his queen (王后) went to see him. She stood in front of him a few metres away. There were two garlands (花环) in her hands.
“Dear King, I have a question for you. For the two garlands in my hands, do you know which one is made up of real flowers?” asked the queen.
Solomon looked at the garlands carefully. They looked the same with the same size and the same colours. He really couldn't tell one from the other with his eyes.
Thinking for a while, he turned to the window. “Open the window,” he said to his servant (仆人).
“But there are many bees flying around the roses. They may come in and hurt us,” the queen said.
“No worries,” said the king.
The servant walked to the window and opened it. A minute later, the bees started to come into the room through (通过) the window. They flew around and around, and finally (最终) sat on one of the garlands.
“See?” the king said. “That's the real one.”
“You are really very clever, King Solomon,” the queen said, laughing.
