人与社会——文化景观
China opened one of the world's coolest libraries—the Tianjin Binhai Library. It is so amazing that it will take your breath away when you walk into it. It was designed to look like a 3D eyeball on purpose.
Nobody likes to be watched while they're trying to read a book,but we're willing to make an exception(例外) if it means getting to visit this fantastic new library in China. The incredible structure has a huge round auditorium (礼堂) in the middle. It makes the library look like a large eye.
This library stands in the Binhai Cultural District of Tianjin,which was designed by the Dutch design company MVRDV in collaboration(合作) with the Tianjin Urban Planning and Design Institute (TUPDI). It has been named “The Eye of Binhai”,and covers 33,700 square meters.
Building the library took about three years. It has a reading area on the first floor,rest areas in the middle sections,and offices,meeting spaces,and computer rooms at the top. We're not sure how much knowledge we will get,but we will definitely be surprised at it!
