四、阅读理解。
人与社会——文化习俗
Life is like a box of mooncakes. You never know what you're going to get. A big mystery(奥秘) in Chinese life comes in a plastic case. The mooncake is one of the best desserts I have ever tasted, but buying it is a never-ending surprise or disappointment.

Mooncakes in China are bigger, thicker and tastier than the desserts in my country. They are round and filled with different kinds of fillings. Red beans and nuts are the most common, but there are more elaborate(精心制作的) fillings: green tea, meat, salted egg yolk, cream cheese and so on. I have read something about the ice-cream mooncake in a magazine. But I've never tried it and I wonder where to find it.
My question is simple: How do you know what's inside?
For one who has got tired of the red bean filling, it would be nice to taste the others. I like nuts and salted egg yolk in mooncakes. But when I ask the store clerks what's inside, they usually give me a blank look.
I wish there will be a smarter way to tell what's inside Chinese mooncakes without tasting them one by one. How about a photo of halved mooncakes at every store?

5. (创新考法·写作目的题) What's the writer's purpose in writing the passage?
