D. Answer the questions.
Robots make me scared. I was sorry to admit this until I heard that Bill Gates, the CEO of Microsoft, felt the same way.
Gates said in an interview, “I am in the camp that is worried about super intelligence. In about thirty to forty years, however, their intelligence will be strong enough to worry humans.”
Maybe I don’t have to worry about my laptop and kitchen appliances yet. After I use them I can always turn them off. But in the future, machines may find a way to prevent us from turning them off. What a scary thought it will be!
The great physicist, Stephen Hawking warned about the possibility that artificial intelligence( AI) could develop and end up out of human control. He suggested that machines could cause the end of the human world.
It’s a good thing that American writer Issac Asimov thought about how far robots could go and left us his basic rule of robotics—humans must pass a law: ______ 5 .
I’m glad my machines at home are “dumb”. All my vacuum robot wants to control is the carpet in my living room.
1. How did Bill Gates feel about robots?______
2. When will robots’ intelligence be strong enough to worry humans, according to Bill Gates?______
3. What does the underlined “them” refer to?______
4. Why does the writer worry about machines in the future?______
5. Fill in the blank with an item of law about robots.______
