B The three brothers

Long long ago, there were three princes. They lived with their father and mother, the king and the queen. But they were not happy together. They always fought with each other. The queen said to the king, "You should stop them."

The king asked his sons to come to him. He got a bundle of sticks. Then he asked his sons to break the sticks in half. They tried and tried. They could not do it.

The king said, "Let me try. Please look carefully." He took one stick out of the bundle and broke it in half. Then he broke the bundle of the sticks like this.

Three princes understood their father. They stopped fighting. They got together and their country got strong.
