It means that in the wet air, the seeds break down and change a little with the help of bacteria(细菌). This gives the seeds a new flavour(风味). They start to have a chocolate taste. When the seeds are ready, people dry them in the sun. This can take long—about two whole weeks! After the seeds are dried, people roast(烘烤) them. Then, people move away the shells. Finally, people turn them into cocoa powder and chocolate.
Chocolate is a popular snack in many parts of the world. When you shop in a supermarket, you may find different kinds of flavours. The chocolate we eat today may have sugar, milk or nuts in it.
