Hi! Remembering words is difficult but I think I can help you.
Remember that your body has five senses. You can see, hear, smell, taste and touch. You cannot use all five senses because you cannot taste or smell a word. However, you can use your other three senses to help you remember. When you read a word, do not just read it to yourself. Read it aloud! Then you are seeing the word and hearing the word when you say it. So, those are two senses. Where is the last one? Well, you touch the word when you say it. Your mouth is making the word. So, say the word loudly!
Dictionaries(字典) are useful! But when you are learning new words, try to remember them with pictures. Do not just remember the translation(翻译) for "run" or "climb". Look at a picture and say the word three times! You can use a picture dictionary, make cards or just read comic books. Try to remember the words as you look at the pictures.
In China, we hear English on TV and see it on ads every day. I always carry a little notebook. In this way, I can write down new words to ask my teacher or to look them up in the dictionary later.
To me, the best way to remember one word is to remember five words! Does that sound silly? Well, it is not. It is easier to remember a word if you remember it in a sentence or even better a silly sentence!
