BBC纪录片《亚洲》
Asia,the BBC's latest nature series,is now on air. The seven-part documentary features exciting wildlife stories from different corners of the continent.
1. D This is the first time Asia has been the main focus of a BBC wildlife documentary series. Let's check out what one of the producers,Matthew Wright,has to say.
Why did you want to make this series?
BBC had a great series Seven Worlds,One Planet several years ago,but only one of the episodes was about Asia. That's nowhere near enough. The riches on offer there are on a par with anywhere else in the world,so there are many more stories waiting to be told.
We thought,“Why don't we do a whole series on the continent?” Our team started collecting stories and ended up with a rich list.
2. F There's nothing more exciting for us wildlife filmmakers.
What is your favourite scene in the series?
For me,the opening scene is beyond description. It depicts grey reef sharks(灰礁鲨)chasing a school of Moorish idols(镰鱼). It was on quite a few wildlife filmmakers' bucket lists,but our team was the first to capture this wonderful scene. 3. C
Were there any interesting stories during filming?
For “The Frozen North” episode,we set out to film the chiru(藏羚羊)in Xizang. But we didn't have the best of luck at first,until a wolf “helped” us find the chiru. One day,one of our cameramen saw a lone wolf and followed it around. It found the chiru and hunted one down after chasing the pack for hours. 4. A

I hope they will see Asia differently. Its wildlife is very colourful. It has amazing things like the highest mountains,the deepest ocean and the tallest rainforest trees. I hope that the next time when we talk about wildlife,more of us will go straight to Asia.
