Last month, my classmates and I went on a spring outing in the suburbs. We were told that we would cook lunch by ourselves there. So before starting our trip, we prepared fresh vegetables, meat, potatoes and tomatoes, together with oil, salt, wine and spice.
When we arrived the next day, we were surprised. There was no indoor kitchen at all. On the ground, we saw only a few huge pots on top of bricks. There was no natural gas. We had to look for enough dry wood and make a fire. We had never done this before.
Many of us had problems controlling the fire, so we ate the food which wasn't well cooked finally.
I tried to make a dish of garlic lamb chops(羊排). At first, I poured a lot of cooking wine into the pot instead of cooking oil. Oh my God! Luckily, I found out immediately. I changed the wine into oil. I did my job well.
We not only enjoyed natural beauty but also learned an important life skill. What an unforgettable trip we had!
