Ⅳ. 阅读理解
Two astronauts are on a spacewalk. Suddenly, a large piece of space junk (垃圾) hits their spaceship. The junk breaks their ship. Without their ship, they are floating (漂浮) in space. How can they make their way back to the Earth? This is a part of the 2013 US film Gravity.
Although this kind of accident has never happened in the real world, every astronaut has to take this risk when going on spacewalk. To stop this from happening, scientists in the US have made smart space clothes. The clothes have a special "take-me-home" button (按钮), according to Daily Mail.
The space clothes can take astronauts back to their spaceship. They just need to use the button. There are some sensors (感应器) inside the clothes. They can tell where the astronauts are. They may have other uses in the future. For example, they can help firemen pass through smoke-filled rooms.
What risks do astronauts face?
● Floating away into deep space. There is oxygen (氧气) in the astronauts' clothes. But it only lasts for about seven hours.
● A small cut in their clothes. They may quickly lose oxygen if their clothes are broken.
