When Lstarted working in the museum,I always felt bad when someone asked me whether he or she could take photographs. That was because I had to tell him or her no.
Thankfully, things have changed.Personal photography is generally allowed now. But have things gone too far in the other direction? This has been discussed widely online.
The idea of banning(禁止) photography inmuseums carries the expectation that visitors should enjoy art. If they don't pay attention to what is in front of them, then art isn't for them.
But art and its experience can change from person to person-powerful,funny or even boring. Some people want lo think quietly, others may want lively discussions. In addition, many people wish to take photos and post them on social media.
People take photos for different reasons. As for me,Ioften take lots of photos to help me remember a show,an artwork,a bit of text on the wall or anything else that catches my interest. These photos can be especially helpful when I'm writing something.
When you pholograph an artwork, you make it personal. You are not just looking at a work of Van Gogh but taking a tiny piece of it with you,too-one that's yours and no one else's. I's a rich experience.
