(跨学科·语文) Lord Pingyuan was from the State of Zhao(赵国). At that time, Zhao was weaker than Qin, so Qin wanted to control (控制) Zhao. Lord Pingyuan decided to ask the State of Chu for some help. He planned to pick twenty talented people to go with him. But he could only find nineteen people. Where was the twentieth person? Soon, a man called Mao Sui was very confident and said, “Please believe in me.” Finally, Lord Pingyuan let Mao Sui join them.
Lord Pingyuan led these twenty men to the State of Chu. However, the king didn’t want to help Zhao. Mao Sui acted bravely. He walked to the king with a sword(剑) in his hand. The king was very surprised and had to listen to Mao Sui. Mao Sui described the importance of the friendship between Chu and Zhao. The king agreed to help Zhao. After that, people considered Mao Sui as a hero of the state.
The story tells us that we should always believe in ourselves like Mao Sui. Don’t be shy to show our talents.
