六、阅读表达。
Do you know what people usually eat on the winter solstice(冬至) and why?
Once upon a time, there was a doctor named Zhang Zhongjing. Dr. Zhang saw many poor people in his city. It was very cold and the people had no hats to keep their ears warm, so they had red and sore(痛的) ears.
The winter solstice came. It is the shortest day of the year. It has the longest and coldest night. Dr. Zhang was kind and warm-hearted. He wanted to help poor people feel better and decided to make something warm for them to eat. He took big pot of hot water outside. First, he cooked mutton and vegetables in the pot. Then he began to make dough(面团). After that, he made the dough into small circles. He put the mutton and vegetables inside. He folded them and made them into an ear shape! At last, he put the “dough ears” in the soup and cooked them. He gave them to the people in the town. After eating, they felt warm. Even their ears were warm!
The people thanked Dr. Zhang. The “cooked ears” had a special name—tender ears. Also, people learned to make the food. Later, the name was changed into *jiaozi* or dumplings. *jiaozi* has a great wish for warmness and health.
56. Why did people have red and sore ears in Dr Zhang's city?
57. Which day is the shortest of the year?
58. How did Dr. Zhang help people feel better on cold days?
59. What did Dr. Zhang put into the dumplings?
60. Would you like to be a person like Dr. Zhang? Why or why not?
