B
What do I want to be when I grow up? My answer is “an English interpreter(翻译)”.
Here are a few reasons.
First, I know if I want to be a good interpreter, I have to study two languages well: Chinese and English. When I was a little child, I loved my mother language. I was very interested in it and learned it hard. When English came into my life, it became another best friend of mine. I’m doing my best to study everything about the language. I talk with foreigners and try to tell them about my great country.
Second, English is useful around the world. It is an international language. People use it as a second language in many different countries. As the interpreters of the 21st century, we need to play a role in building a bridge to a better world.
Last but not least, interpreters are cultural ambassadors(文化使者). China is a great country with a long history. Interpreters can take Chinese culture to other countries. This can help people in other countries to know about Chinese culture. Interpreters translate(翻译) one language into another for people in different countries, so they can know about each other well.
To become an interpreter, there’s still a long way for me to go. I need to learn more. I’m sure in the near future I can help to build a bridge between different cultures.
